Square Enix's Lineup for Gamescom 2012

Today, Square Enix announced their lineup for this year's Gamescom which will be held from August 15th to August 19th. According to Phil Rogers, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix Europe, "gamescom is the biggest European games show and it's great to be there with such a strong and diverse lineup of interactive experiences. This year we have a mix of some of the industry's most identifiable characters and a host of highly original content - it's going to be a great show".

Final Fantasy VII optimised for modern PCs

Final Fantasy VII has been optimised for modern PCs and will be available for download exclusively from the Square Enix Store. It will also have new features such as achievements, cloud saves and a character booster system.

Achievements are similar to the PSN trophies. Users will have a profile which will show off the in-game accomplishments. There is a total of 36 brand new achievements to unlock.

Cloud saves will allow players to continue their game progress from different computers. All that is required is an internet connection for cloud save support.

The character booster system can increase HP, MP and Gil levels with the click of a button. This is particularly useful when stuck in a certain part of the game.
