Anti Virus
Another intresting thing.....

Ok Anti Virus and firewalls are the only thing that keeps our Computers safe until bigger theats come and mash our pc's together like potatoes lol ...

A month ago on my mothers XP computer i accidently downloaded Spy ware and it was very anoying but the Horrible thing was, Even though Norton Anti - Virus picked up some loose ends of the spy ware,

The next day and DEAD, the computer Kept rebooting for no Reason? it was in a loop, it wouldn't even get to the XP logo Screen....

So i took the pc back to my house to fix it and then realized it had paralized the machine, We couldn't Access the main Drive, only the floppy would work and even it knocked the Cd Drive out,

and funny enough i had a disk which i created with Mcafee old Anti virus 2002 and it picked up a virus which Norton didn't?

Isn't this a bit shocking that norton lets the old ones fly around and they're mroe concern on the new ones?

The virus was identified as ' Quaint . B' - A deadly Booting Virus which is a Macro which described every thing what the pc was doing?

To cut the story short we fixed it within a week or more but the real question i'm asking who to you trust for Anti Virus?

Norton Yearly Subscription

Macfee - Subscription

or any other crappy program like Panda..... :?:

So what if i'm a goth & i use Macromedia Fireworks - Not every one is CS2 Combatible

well mcafee i don't like muhc
norton tried it, but didn't do much as expected.

Currently I'm using AVG. it's not that bad, its the only one for now that is detecting viruses and deleting them sometimes. PC cilin haven't tried it yet it seems good too.

lol
lol thats probably why but saying that no matter what Anti virus you put on it still takes up most of the memorey,

Why can't they make a anti virus proram which doesn't take up memorey which is good for both old and new

NOD32
have you tried NOD32? That's that anti-virus i'm currently using, and so far i've had good results. it runs very smoothly and doesn't use lots of memory. Dunno bout other anti-viruses i only had norton before and it sucked.

Well, from what I've heard McAfee is the best, and that Norton is disappointing.

So maybe that is why Norton gave you problems.

I currently use eTrust EZ Antivirus. It's a trial version...I have a free antivirus for 1 year, then I have to buy it. I'm certainly not buying it, so next February I'll have to uninstall it and find a new one.

PS: People, pay attention to your spelling and grammar...OK?

Yeah Norton sucks ALOT.

I used both AVG and NOD32, NOD32 isn't free, has a trial and what it showed was good I reallt liked it but the best overall for me as to be AVG.

I agree, when I had norton, I had a virus which norton couldnt heal and find. So don't know why the whole fuss about it.
Currently using avg too, well, I'm quite content with it. Haven't seen a virus for some time now Smile
